Field Trip 7 Castle & Whisky Tour

Date

Friday 12 June | 09:00-17:00

Description

The castle & whisky tour is an amazing trip where we will learn about the wealthy Earl Marshall’s of the North-East of Scotland, who built famous Dunnottar Castle and the impressive Marischal College in Aberdeen. We will also learn how our most famous drink is made!
We travel along the rugged Aberdeenshire coast through the picturesque town of Stonehaven, until we arrive at the striking ruins of ancient Dunnottar Castle. After some time spent here, we arrive at Maryculter House for lunch. This is 1 of Scotland’s oldest hotels and is quite magnificent. Plenty of time to explore the historic hall too! Later, an afternoon trip to our local whisky distillery, Glen Garioch. This is a real hidden gem, where you will be treated to a great tour of the distillery and then some delicious whisky drams to sample afterwards!
