This workshop covers the following topics:

  • CO2 from the emitters to transport: CO2 concentration, impurities, pressure and temperature
  • CO2 storage site: depleted hydrocarbon reservoirs / saline aquifers
  • Screening
  • Site selection, assessment, storage capacity, containment
  • CO2 Injection rates, Injectivity test design
  • CO2 injector well: design, drilling and monitoring. Well integrity assessment for existing wells
  • Regulation and permits
  • CCS Business case. Main mechanisms to support CCS project (tax credit, carbon pricing, others)
  • Environment considerations and Monitoring plan 
  • Societal and public perception
